With this website, Malaysians can contribute to any of the 23 NGOs registered with the portal by using CIMB Clicks, the bank’s internet banking portal.

CIMB group chief executive Datuk Seri Nazir Abdul Razak said many people often think twice before making donations because they are unsure of the security of the process of donating and of the legitimacy of the organisations.

We hope CIMB Cares could help in this matter so that people can personally make donations to the organisations of their choice".

The participating NGOs include Global Environment Centre, Beautiful Gate Foundation For The Disabled and National Council for the Blind Malaysia.

CIMB customers can donate via personal accounts while customers from other banks can donate through CIMB Clicks.

The online portal is also equipped with auto debit and standing instructions for those who wish to donate regularly.

The registered NGOs went through due diligence and interviews before they were accepted as recipients on CIMB Cares.

Other NGOs are encouraged to register as recipients with CIMB Cares as they can utilise this platform to generate awareness for their causes.

NGOs and the causes they support are relatively unknown, so we hope CIMB Cares will help them garner more profile for the causes they support," Nazir said. NGOs interested can contact officers at CIMB’s business centres or the nearest CIMB bank branch.
